The Colona District Pubic library is committed to the well-being of its patrons. The library Board of Trustees, with careful consideration, will be reopening with some new restrictions in place. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
We are entering Phase 4 of Restore Illinois, so some of our policies have changed.
Please keep in mind:
New system requirement - cards must be presented in order check out items
If you have a fever, sore throat, cough or any COVID-19 symptoms, PLEASE DO NOT ENTER the library
There will be <= 15 patrons in the library at a time
Patrons may be in the library once per day for 1 hour at a time, which includes computer usage
Patrons must practice social distancing-- 6’ a part
Upon entering the library, patrons must sanitize their hands and sign-in for contract tracing due to COVID-19
They may use liquid sanitizer or wash with soap and water
Patrons must wear masks while in the library
Patrons not wearing a mask will not be allowed into the library
Patrons will enter through the East door (by the flag)
Patrons will leave through the West door
There will be no entry through the West door
The HOLD system is limited with extended delays
Returned items will be quarantined for 3 days and will not be available for check out
Story Time is virtual until further notice
Summer Reading Program is July only with no in-person programming

Zoo Passes Available for Check-Out
Passes for Niabi Zoo are available to check out at the library, but advance reservations must be made by library staff. When checking out the zoo pass, the staff will ask which time slot you want to reserve and will print the tickets. Both the tickets and zoo pass must be presented when entering the zoo.
The Lincolnwood Library is virtually hosting Pulitzer nominated author of the Great Believers, Rebecca Makkai. She will read from the book and do a Q&A.
This program is being offered using Zoom, a virtual presentation/conferencing software. Please include your email address to receive instructions on how to join the Zoom event.
Respond to the Census
The 2020 Census is happening now. You can complete your questionnaire online, by phone, or by mail.
